Around when I stopped producing Forecast a friend gave our son an acoustic nylon string guitar. In addition to cycling more often, I decided that a new creative outlet would be fun so I picked it up and started to learn, mostly via youtube. Eventually I started taking classical guitar lessons at the Albany community center and slowly (very slowly) began to produce sounds resembling music. I’ll upload a few here, as they come.
Here Leo Brouwer’s Etude Simple I. Most of the pieces I’ve learned date back to the 18th century and don’t really appeal to me, musically. Brouwer, on the other hand, I love. Each Etude has something new to teach and a marvelous mix of melodic and dissonant themes.
